Sponsel Foundation is dedicated to providing resources and services to advance the education, screening, research, diagnosis, and treatment of ophthalmic diseases and ocular trauma for medically underserved communities locally and worldwide.

The Foundation focuses upon  subspecialty ophthalmic areas designed to eradicate and prevent blindness.

Additionally, The Foundation supports clinical outreach programs by:​

             -      Fostering Research related to glaucoma, ocular trauma and ocular hypotony

​

             -       Supporting collaborative research endeavors between Dr. Sponsel and

                      clinical and research fellows

​

             -       Facilitating clinical implementation of advancements in technology that

                      improve treatment of ocular trauma glaucoma or ocular hypotony

​

             -       Providing public service ocular health screenings

​

             -       Increasing public awareness of glaucoma and ocular trauma

​

             -        Providing medical and surgical services, sustainable training, and

                       equipment for such programs worldwide
