During this year's Guatemala mission, Dr. Sponsel, MD, Sponsel Foundation President Joanne Yawn, and the rest of the "Sight for Life" team were especially busy. On the first day alone, they reported treating or ex1amining about 146 people.

Dr. Sponsel performed surgeries while Joanne Yawn drew from her speciallized training as an Ophthalmologist Technician to conduct all patient vision screenings, support doctors by identifying those patients most needing surgery.

Along with Sponsel Foundation, financing for the Guatemala mission was provided by Encompass Home Health, United Methodist Church, and Mr. Lytle.
